Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What’s your check-in time?

You are welcome to check-in any time after 3:00 pm. Because we have a very short "window" between guest check-out and the time a new group arrives, we have to multi-task cleaning, errands, appointments, etc. If you know for sure that you will  be arriving after 5:00 pm, please let us know. It will greatly assist us in planning our day. A quick phone call is greatly appreciated in the event of unanticipated delays, too.

What is your policy regarding children?

Because of a number of factors (topography, safety concerns around sensitive equipment, etc.), we ask that children be 5 years of age or older.

What's your cancellation policy?

We ask for 7 days notification to allow us time to re-book the room. If insufficient notice is given, then there is a charge only if we are unable to re-let the space. No-shows are charged the equivalent of a full night.

Do you accept pets?

Kindly ask. We often do, although it is not a given because some guests suffer allergies and we promise that their space will not be compromised. Small-to-medium dogs are usually welcomed, although we greatly appreciate owners bringing a carry-kennel with them so that they can be contained while in the suites.

What is the optional imaging tutorial?

This is a session over and above that which is always included with a nightly stay at our B&B. You get to loosen your creative side and use Jack's equipment and expertise to take YOUR OWN photos using a large computer-controlled telescope. No experience is required. This session is suitable for all ages. You will capture your own photos of the sun, galaxies, and nebulae. This session is available without pre-booking and is held concurrently with the evening observing session for all guests. The cost is $50 per person and can be a life-changer!!
